Joshua was stalking her. He was preventing her from taking her meds, so she was speaking oddly: "Abby is so clumsy when she's tired." She was very out of it, thanks to her son. She couldn't even feel the pain of a gash requiring 15 stitches. She definitely had mental health problems that were probably genetically as well as psychologically the cause of Joshua's problems.

I took it that she might have been sleep walking and not thinking and talking normally. She might have been talking as if she was in a dream, not as in real life...
