'Send the nanny' is actually a thing, LOL

I thought of this movie when I went to an end-of-the-year school meeting for my son a few weeks back. The part where the boss tells Joshua's father to send the nanny to his parent-teacher conference got even more real to me when one of my son's friends was at this meeting with a very sweet elderly lady who spoke with me for a bit and told a few funny stories about his friend. I was under the assumption she was his grandmother until she introduced herself to the teachers as his regular babysitter. In the back of my mind I'm thinking "who DOES that...?" and immediately my thoughts went to this scene.

Yes, to me that says "I don't care enough about my child so I'll let someone else do the job." I can understand if they're a single parent or very poor so they have to work long hours just to get by, but if you're just going to send the nanny you might as well skip the conferences altogether (which my parents did once or twice ).

Burn, witch! Burn, witch! Burn! Burn! Burn!
