So I loved this movie so much that I'm writing a piece exploring what might have happened with the characters after the film ended. Fanfiction, if you will. But it's been a while since I watched the movie and I can't remember what Ned's occupation was. Can anyone refresh my memory?

I believe Ned was a composer. There is a discussion in the beginning of the film where Brad's mother alludes to being interested in seeing a musical Ned composed.

That was weird because he also said, ‘you’re three years too late’. I wondered if this was a second musical or piece that he was writing.
