How did this movie make you feel?

Throughout this message board there are many interpretations and reviews of the movie, yet very few people actually described the emotions that this movie stirred up in them.
In the beginning of the movie I felt rather fascinated and curious, as to what is going on, yet as the movie developed I started feeling rather nauseous and slightly depressed. Some of you said that the setting of the film is either hell, heaven or purgatory, but for me it really resembled the reality we all live in and that is what frightened me. I started asking myself what is actually reality? Perhaps the realm we currently reside in is actually just another dimension in the grand scheme of the universe? At one point of the film I started doubting my sanity and started thinking that perhaps the world we see is really just the projection of our imagination. Perhaps everyone around us are just a big lie (like in the truman show). After the movie ended and all the emotions settled, I started feeling rather positive - Although the reality we live in is similar to that portrayed in the movie, but in our reality we have more choice, more freedom, yet at the end of the day we shouldn't pursue material goods, because once we acquire all the possessions that we desire our life will become meaningless. We should focus on other aspects of life, such as expanding our worldview, learning more about life, existence and the world. We should get to know other people more and focus less on work etc.

For a film about alienation, ironically it made me feel a lot less alienated knowing that the makers of that film feel the same way I do about modern life and it's been quite heartening to read similar comments on this board. So yeah, overall it struck a chord but left me feeling quite positive afterwards.

Absolutely! I was going to post the same thing. I found Andreas' situation very relatable, and since his situation was inherently isolating, it was nice to feel a little less isolated.

I usually feel completely out of place in my society, and as Andreas discovered, it's a double edged sword. On one hand you're unhappy because you're unfulfilled in a superficial world. On the other hand you're unhappy because the people around you respond negatively to deviation from conformity.

So hey, let's all hop in the luggage compartment and meet up in the frozen wasteland and make our own city.

The film made me feel entertained and curious but left me disappointed. I wanted to know more. It felt like only half a film to me.

The beginning was funny and the weird. As the film progressed I felt confusion and then I started to dislike the colour palette intensely. Some moments continued to humour me, e.g. the vomit scene in the men's urinals where our protagonist is acquainted with the man complaining about lack of taste and sensation. When the man broke through the tunnel and grabbed the iced bun cake and began eating it, unrepentant in the face of the officials, I laughed. I felt sad when he commented upon missing children and at the end in his painful bus journey back to somewhere else.

I'm scared of the middle place between light and nowhere

Nauseus is the right word.
Not because it was bad, but because of how unsettling it was.
