My friend made a list about closest major to Langdon's major because as we all know there are no major called Symbology. So I decided to share her list in here for your opinions.

Here is the list;

1 Archaeology
2 Art History
3 Classics or Latin Language & Literature / Ancient Greek Language & Literature
4 History
5 Philosophy
6 Semiotics (PhD after graudating from the one of the majors in 3)
7 Theology

Robert Langdon is a fictional Harvard University professor of religious iconology and symbology (a fictional field related to the study of historic symbols, which is not methodologically connected to the actual discipline of Semiotics.

Langdon doesn't have a 'major' as he is a professor and not a student. He has an area of study and would usually teach several lectures within that subject. He's probably in this history department and teaches various topics including "Symbology".
