The Enlightened Ones?

It's strange to me that this movie about the Illuminati is not spurring any discussions on imdb about, well, the Illuminati. I've been told that movies about conspiracies that conclude by debunking said conspiracies are actually propaganda.

Spoiler Alert

Since this book/movie seems to have a lot of inside information about the Illuminati, and ends up "disproving" their existence in the end, anyone think it's an extreme stretch that Dan Brown might be a member, and is mixing facts with disinformation to cloud the truth? I don't actually believe in the Illuminati, but a conspiracy-nut friend of mine is convinced of all this. What do you guys think?

reply

Inside information?

Dan Brown simply found coincidental information and generalised facts about The Vatican, Rome and it's churches / Artists and created some conspiracy. Most of the chapels in the film are sets and designed purely to make all these coincidences fit. Not to mention that almost every Bernini statue was in a completely different place to their true locations.

The Illuminati where also a German organisation, not Italian and was officialy started in 1776, Many years after the death of the main 'Illuminati' members from the film, (Gian Lorenzo Bernini 1598 - 1680).

Dan Brown is well known for twisting history and facts to fit around conspiracies made up for his books, and believing in anything from this film would be simply idiotic. And as for Dan Brown debunking these conspiracies, one must remember or acknowledge that this 'Illuminati' conspiracy was almost entirely created by Dan Brown anyway.

So you don't think there was any intentional mixing up of the real historical facts of the Illuminati which you stated? Anyway, I'd say you answered my question. I'll just go ahead and close the book on that one. Thanks!

It is plausible that an organization similar to the film's "Illuminati" existed in the 16th and 17th century. Afterall, it's coomon knowledge that earlier scientists were shunned or persecuted by the church.

Probably because anything that is of actual importance to the world won't be discussed on here.. Or everyone is too scared to come out and talk in the presence of the 'all seeing eye'.

I've heard of plenty of celebs that were supposedly part of the NWO (that's New World Order to those not 'enlightened', but nothing of Dan Browne being part of it. I don't think they have any use for him besides spreading the word that "they" don't exist. Do a little research and find the truth out for yourself... It's not hard when it's in plain view.
