Is Langdon's latin bad? During they examine Galileo's document. Vittoria suggest her to help in Latin and he accepts. I thought he is magnificent in Latin. Since he's an expert on symbols he should also be expert on some important ancien languages especially on Latin and Ancient Greek. How was that in book?

He also know history very well. He is professor in US and he has a catholic background. He should know Latin.
shareI didn't get this either, in both movies. As a symbologist, he must be constantly doing archaic research, and yet he doesn't seem to be able to speak or read French, Italian or Latin. I thought this was odd.
