For those who deny God, our savior Lord Jesus. How can you say God didn't create the world when he created the banana?

Note that the banana:
Is shaped for the human hand
Has a non-slip surface
Has outward indicators of inward content:
Green - not ripe enough
Yellow - just right for eating
Black - too ripe
Has a tab for easy removal of its wrapper
Is perforated on the wrapper for easy peeling
Has a biodegradable wrapper
Is shaped for the human mouth
Is pleasing to the taste buds
Is curved towards the face to make the eating process easy
The conclusion: obviously the banana was designed by "Almighty God" for the benefit of human beings.

Don't you think you Christ deniers are on par with the Holocaust deniers in terms of being blinded from the facts?

Jesus Mythicism is easily refuted simply by looking at ancient historical sources.

The "banana illustration" isn't one I'd use to prove the existence of God.

It's also not necessary to prove "Intelligent Design" or Creationism in order to prove the existence of God. The question of whether Jesus of Nazareth is the Christ and the divine Son of God is a separate question entirely.

Not all Christians are believers in Intelligent Design. Theistic Evolution is a perfectly reasonable alternative and consistent with theology, accepted, I'd argue, by the majority of believers.

How does a theistic evolutionist, who just so happens to be a christian, explain the purpose of Jesus and his salvation? After all, the only reason why he came and sacrificed himself for humanity is because "Adam and Eve" fell from grace.

Simple, you take the Adam & Eve story metaphorically to refer to the fallen nature of all of humanity since the beginning.

It's quite simple really. Metaphorical interpretation of the Creation stories (yes, plural) in Genesis was common practice amongst the early Fathers of the Church.

Tradition Christianity doesn't believe that Christ's sacrifice only redeemed Adam & Eve, anyhow.

Salt-and-Limes, fancy seeing you here! I suspect we have similar taste in films, haven't I seen you over on the Secretary board once or twice? Also just peeked at your history and see you were over on Inception, which is my much-anticipated film this summer.

And as scientific knowledge continues to progress, keep relegating more and more of the Bible to "metaphor." Very simple, really.

On the contrary, nothing has changed here from the pre-scientific view of the Creation stories.

I'm not a "god of the gaps" kind of guy or copping out. I'm not a "liberal Christian" or a fundie. I'm reporting the Traditional interpretation.

So like it or not, this wasn't something somebody came up with to defend the Bible from science.

And like it or not, Jesus was a historical figure. That's not going to change, regardless of what science "progresses" into. Please keep the arguments simple, without making them simple-minded. ;)

Now, the mouth isn't the first human feature I would think of, when seeing the shape of a banana. But that's just me.
However, when I see other banana-shaped appendixes of joy, I do think there is a God.
