Oops. Make that 250 years. And the first brassieres weren't meant to uplift or support; they were intended to flatten the women's chests. The 'bras' part means 'arm.' It's like holding your arms across your chest to mash your breasts as flat as possible. But in olden times, most women died of old age before their breasts began to sag. Life expectancy was in the late 30s or early 40s. Still, you're right; jouncing your boobs for a mile without stopping would get painful in a hurry. I'm all for bras, uplift, shape, and all, But I also mightily enjoy the view of a well-shaped pair of boobs. I'm a man; I can't help it, nor will I apologise.
