LOVE IT
Why do they always cancel the good series after a couple of seasons and keep crap like Rosanne on for years? I can name more crap series if I had too.

shareYoure watching a tv show 7 years after it went off the air. Its like showing to vote a week after election day.
shareWake up , that's why I said it had been cancelled. Good shows cancelled, bad shows last. As for election too bad voters didn't miss that last one.
shareGo back to school or learn to count........it went off air 5 years ago.

I wouldn't have been interested in a show like Jericho seven years ago. Didn't watch any modern dramas, let alone the networks.
Jericho was too ahead of its time, look at all the post-apocalypse shows that have started in the last 3 years.

"Pride is not the opposite of shame, but its source. True humility is the antidote to shame."
Thats probably due to more of the success The Walking Dead, then Jericho.
shareNever said it was because of Jericho, just that Jericho wasn't right for the market of its day. It would have been a lot more popular today along with all the other popular apocalypse shows.

ROSEANNE was a ground breaking excellent show.
Dealth with middle class, dealt with unemployment, small business owners, ethnicism, homosexuality, physical abuse, depression, and more.
ROSEANNE was on from 88-97 when there were less channels.
Now there is free tv, cable, satellite for overseas channels, netflix, and youtube.
Please do name crap series. ROSEANNE isnt one of them.

Roseanne was a piece of *beep* for most of its run. First 2 or 3 seasons were good, then it took a header into the sewer, came up for air and stayed there, treading toxic water and breathing in its own filth. It was a sitcom for fuks sake and all they did was fight and argue about anything and everything. It completely and utterly ceased being funny, entertaining or even remotely interesting. True, Jericho hasn't aired in over five years, but new fans are still discovering it and this message board is active, alive and well, rife with heated discussions as can plainly be seen. Can the same be said of Roseanne? I highly doubt it and I can't be bothered to check. Bottom line, the OP's point is 100% valid.
shareRoseanne wasnt a piece of sht.
The last season definitely did suck but the 1st 8 were great.
And yes NEW PEOPLE ARE DISCOVERING ROSEANNE.
That is why it is on in the USA DAILY on wetv, tvland, logo, & CMT.
it also used to air on TBC and Nick@Nite.
INTERNATIONALLY it is on in Canada and Australia.
What channel is Jericho on?
Exactly !
Roseanne was top #4 show on all of tv from seasons 1-7!
What was jericho? 48th for s1 and not ranked for s2!

Lilkunta3, you're entitled to your opinion but I stand by mine. Syndication doesn't count, it's a cheap way to fill air time for advertising revenue. Gilligan's Island and the Brady Bunch are most likely still airing somewhere and loved as nostalgia, that doesn't make them high quality must see tv. Tim Allen is still on tv with both Home Improvement and his new show. According to Jim ran one season less than Roseanne; that doesn't make either of them good, it just makes them appealing to the lowest common denominator. Jericho is currently on netflix, that is why people are still discovering it. Jericho's current IMDb ratiing is 7.9, Roseanne's is 6.7. The only thing I can give you is that it is still generating interest as evqidenced by the traffic on its board. The Roseanne and Jericho boards appear to be equally active. As I said before, beyond the first few seasons, Roseanne began to stink to high heaven. It was a really funny sitcom that stopped being funny and devolved into a weekly half hour argument. It became virtually unwatchable to me. Sure it was topical and groundbreaking, particularly it's treatment of homosexuality, but everything came at the expense of the laughter. Jericho may not have been perfect, but it was fairly high concept, engaging and for the most part well executed. It deserved better from CBS, which was the overall number one network at the time and new the show had a rabid cult fan base yet did next to nothing on going the extra mile to promote the second season. I can only assume that the CSI dollars were just far too precious. Bottom line, I'm not telling you you're not allowed to enjoy Roseanne, just that for the most part I thought it sucked and I didn't enjoy it. Jericho I did, and deservedly so.

You make vaid points, let us agree to disagree.
ROSEANNE was a ground breaking excellent show.
Dealth with middle class, dealt with unemployment,
small business owners, ethnicism, homosexuality,
physical abuse, depression, 2nd mortgages,no insurance,
fertility issues, and more.
For you it was 30 min of arguing, for me it was 30min of laughter.
Let us agree to disagree
and agree that JERICHO WAS THE BEST AND CBS DIDNT INVEST IN THE SHOW AT ALL

Roseanne was, is, and always will be amazing. One of the best sitcoms of all-time, probably the second best of the 90s behind Seinfeld. Married With Children gets credit for being the 'gritty' sitcom but Roseanne was a lot more realistic.
I'm literally happen to be watching it right now. x]

deusEx Katrina, I agree w all you posted except Seinfeld.
IMO the 'show about nothing' is overrated.
I never laughed and Ive made many attempts to watch it.
Im surprised you ranked it as #1 over
friends, cheers, frasier, will & grace, ellen, etc.

It's not just my #1 sitcom of the 90s, it's actually my favorite show of all-time. I still watch it 5 or 6 times a week and laugh my head off even after all these years. x]
But hey we all have different taste. Friends would probably be my #3 and Frasier would be up there in the top 5 as well.

Cool, I can do that, absolutely no problem!
I agree with you on Seinfeld too.
narf, yea seinfeld blows. so overrated.

I can't say Seinfeld NEVER made me laugh but....I don't know. I only ever saw it in re-runs for the most part and it always seemed to be the same 10 or 12 "classic" episodes. For a 9 season run that's not a great track record IMO. The Finale I watched live (didn't everybody?)and it was severely terrible, a universal consensus these days, apparently.
