Jericho Update from Issue #5 of the Season 4 Comic

The last issue is out and you can have your local comic shop/bookstore order a copy or you can pre-order the graphic novel (comics in book form) from Amazon: http://tinyurl.com/S4Jericho

Check out cover A:

This image does not depict anything in this issue, so I believe that is our hint of Jericho's first continuation- as A FILM!

The last page, in this issue, says the story will be continued in season 5. That does not mean that nothing else is in the works. It just means there will be another comic. IDW had already announced that they were only telling one small part of the larger Jericho story.

Dan Shotz's words in reference to the TV Guide article [2/14] and the last comic issue:
"I saw that article. Don't know much about that guy's info [source] But I would like to think they still want a piece of us. Now that NBC is picking up Heroes for a short run, you never know what can happen.

Hope you guys enjoy the second trade [graphic novel] of all the issues. Be out soon. Proud of it. Spread the word."

Note: Remember that until there is an official announcement, all we will get is HINTS.

For the last three months, Netflix has been stating that they want to start making films. Jon Turteltaub, who owns Junction Entertainment (Jericho's production company) made his last film for CBS Films (it was CBS Films highest grossing film). With the news and hints we have been given, I strongly believe that a CBS Films/Netflix teaming is in the works.

Now, deals can fall apart and that did happen to Jericho in 2011. I think the third time will be the charm and the producers would not be giving us public hints, unless the deal was close to being finished. You are, of course, free to draw your own conclusions.

My thanks to all the JERICHO RANGERS who have continued to support Jericho by buying the comics/graphic novels, contributing to the Nutflix campaign, contacting Netflix and CBS, sharing that you watch Jericho, and talking about Jericho. It is due to ALL OF YOUR efforts that Jericho has a future and, in my opinion, a very bright future.

Gwen

Can a TV Show come back to TV or as a Movie?

Yes and there are two that recently have: Arrested Development and Veronica Mars

Now Heroes will join them: http://www.deadline.com/2014/02/nbc-heroes-miniseries-2015/

More series are trying to come back:
Pushing Daises - http://variety.com/2014/legit/news/pushing-daisies-might-become-a-broa dway-musical-1201111117/

Babylon 5 - JMS (creator) has asked the B5 Rangers to "Free Babylon 5". Due to a studio dispute, Babylon 5 is not in syndication anywhere, including digital platforms, and he feels the B5 is in danger of being forgotten. B5 fans are now organizing to go to conventions! http://freebabylon5.com/

StarGate Universe: I spoke to a TV journalist at Comic Con, who told me about how the creators are trying to bring the show back. She told me they need to have a booth at Comic Con, like Jericho does. : )

Digital syndication allows shows, even canceled shows, to find their audiences and we are now in a new era where shows can come back from the dead. : )

Will a film be all Jericho will get?

In my opinion, no. Netflix wants continued subscribers and they structure their deals so there will be continued content to their subscribers.

Netflix made a deal with Marvel to have four series based on minor characters that will be combined into one joint event/mini series. House of Cards made the deal with Netflix because they wanted a guaranteed 24 episodes (2 seasons) and Netflix agreed. A third season is already in the works.

Netflix doesn't look at ratings, so Netflix shows don't need to pass a ratings bar. Netflix wants programs that will bring them more subscribers and they know which shows do that. Netflix approached CBS because Jericho was one of their most viewed shows (Per Dan Shotz, Netflix told CBS this).
