Just started watching...Would be better on HBO or Netflix

Or really any other station that doesn't have to water down everything to the point of it being unrealistic. I love the idea of the show (I am currently up to episode 15 I think? Winters end) But the show at least so far fails to capture the grittiness and desperation of surviving in a post nuclear attack. I think it was cancelled and had limited viewership solely because it was on a network TV station and not cable. A show like this needs to be gritty, violent, sad, and at least somewhat realistic. SO far it seems this event was simple a inconvenience to the people of Jericho.

But it isn't on HBO or Netflix. It's a CBS show from 2006. So enjoy the show for what it is, or don't. It's not going to reinvent itself (although the second season is a bit different).

Everything would be better on HBO or Netflix.

Jericho was actually the last-ever decent drama on the Big Four.

And it's worth noting, as the above poster alluded to, what they do in season 2 was impressively daring and smart.

We needed to see rape gangs, slavery and cannibalism, the real and hard desperation that comes from societal collapse.
