Killing off of virtuous people make this show terrible obviously spoiler

I love parts of this show, I really do. but I can't get past the whole leave your respectable doctor wife for the bar slut. THEN THEY KILL OFF THE DOCTOR AND THE BABY. Jesus Christ, no wonder this show got cancelled. Then the slut and his mom get nearly chummy then they send the mom away after they kill off the dad. The town slut makes antiseptic and then she is everybody's hero. Who writes this show, adolescent teenage boys?

Yes, it is worse than Game of Thrones, but I guess that is how it works with bombs and bullets rather than swords.

It's to show that good people (as well as bad) can get killed. You forget that April his ex-wife, was planning to divorce him before the bombs fell. Most of the people on this show (both good and bad) are multifaceted characters who have positive and negative traits about them, like any human being.
