After seeing that the filming locations took place in California, I questioned whether or not the film was supposed to be set in New York or not— I've lived there, and the subways and even the street scenes are so obviously not NYC. I know Los Angeles has a subway system, although I've never used it when I've been there. Anyone know why they shot this in LA? It's very clearly not NYC if you're a New Yorker or have even only been there.

Yeah well, once a movie is made, it is up to the production on how much they are willing to spend on it. If one shooting location is too expensive, they go with the cheaper option and make it "look" like it is what it should be
