I was confused about that as well; however I think it was a piece of his side, or abdomen. You can see him holding that area after Dale rescues him, when he is limping around the car storage area.

I couldn't figure that out either. I thought it was his junk at first as well, but it looked like it came off of his side. Seems like the type of guy that is fit enough where it'd be hard enough to grab anything off of his side, though.

It was definitely something from the side of his abdomen. To me it looked like Texas Battle was hiding a piece of Twizzler on his side and Pa had a sweet tooth! Does anyone else think it looked like a small slice of Twizzler?
