Something that annoyed me!

When they had the subtitles, not only did it say the English version of what they were saying in Arabic, but also "Knock on door!", "Kiss!", "Roosters crow!" etc.

So it had subtitles for noises as well. Why is this necessary? I'm sure that a door knock sounds the same in any language.

Including subtitles for noises just made the movie seem a bit comical, when the rest of the film was being serious.

Did this bother anyone else?

It seems to me you had hearing-impaired subtitles. I definitely didn't have any hearing-impaired captions when I watched the movie, but for people who can't hear anything, these subtitles are a big help. What was the source of the copy of the movie you watched?
