I hope I am not being too obtuse, but would welcome anyone explaining the point of the director in employing the same scene (shooting and bombing assassination attempt against Abasi in the town centre) to begin and end the film. I am afraid it left us completely nonplussed!
shareI too missed the time jump, I believe they jumped back before Fatima woke up on her own. What really confused me was the torturer and the old lady - they died a week ago? Whoa - where are we? I gotta admit that Fatima trying to stop the suicide bomber was good, then you sort of knew what was going to happen next. The most emotional bit for me was the mother beating the torturer on the chest.
shareWell, the aunt was saying that she hadn't seen her niece since 6 days. So that kinda gave it away pretty quick, that they had been dead since a week. I have to admit though, it was a bit confusing for a minute.
shareIt was a really clever, ironic twist of an ending, completing the loop of the story, but at the same time implying that the never ending cycle of terrorism, suffering, torture and loss will unfortunately keep continuing for some.
