6.9!WTF!!
6.9!absurd......
shareAgreed. I mean this movie was about 10x better than Lions for Lambs and the score should be at least in the 7 range. It was really quite a gem.
shareYeah man having seen it recently its great movie, going to write a review soon.
8/10 from me, not for 1 sec did I felt the story was non linear, superb editing.
I agree...I just gave it a 9. My one and only concern with it was not having the phonecalls properly addressed, that was a slight bummer for an otherwise perfectly shot, well played, clever film
shareeonbluedan: I gave it a 9 too. Apparently (according to Wikipedia) the phone thing was explained in a subplot that was deleted from the final movie.
I have a problem with the ending. A CIA agent suddenly develops a conscience? WTF???
I gave this movie a 2. It was difficult to follow and figure out who was who and read the sub-titles at the same time. I thing the screen writer could have done a much better job identifying and describing the plot and the characters involved.
shareSo you are one of the people who are lowering the ratings on this spectacular movie just because your lack of IQ?
sharehahahaha!!! AMEN!!! "I thought the subtitles were hard to read..." WTF!!!??? a sure sign of American incompetence is when we can't get over a film's subtitles. No wonder hollywood is doing so many *beep* remakes of great international films.
Anyway, I thought the film was superb and definitely deserves more than measly 6.8. I can't decide If I want to give it a 7 or 8, but I'm leaning towards 8 because the film was pretty much flawless. Not the greatest thriller, but the film itself was really well assembled. Yeah, If I can give Lord Of War a 7, then this is an 8.
Hey Culture Slut,
I have no problem with subtitles as long as you can read them. I watched it tonight on my 27 inch TV in my bedroom. Between the annoying channel logo that appears on almmost every screen on every channel these days, and the very small print of the subtitles on the screen, I must admit that I had a hard time even seeing the subtitles let alone reading them. Yeah, it sucks to get old! It also sucks to be sick, needed to search for a med care office to visit tomorrow...
I often times multi-task while the TV is on so unless you are watching the screen for every scene, you certainly will miss a lot.
I'll try to catch it again on the next go round.
ah there you go. small text...
shareI FIND CHANNEL LOGOS ANNOYING TOO! Trying to watch a foreign film, even on a larger screen TV, can be frustrating. Then there is that block in the upper left-hand corner of the screen that pops up to inform me I am watching a movie with nudity, foul language, violence, whatever, and that block usually shows up just in time to cover someone's entire face. Argh.
shareHow does size of subtitles relate to movie? It's not the decision of the producer - I just set the size of the subtitles to whatever I want. I can even set the font. It is up to the video player to have those options.
shareI watch all of my movies with the subtitles on...
I live in my own little world, but don't worry, they know me here!! (~_^)
I think you show more incompetence by linking one comment to all Americans. And probably more so that you think this film deserves a higher rating of the measly 6.8 it has received but not sure if you want to give it a 7.0 or an 8.0. You do know that a 7 rating is only 0.2 more?!
I think I would give it an 8.5 rating (but only because I have a larger TV and thus can read the the film's subtitles).
I gave it a 10, but I tend to be overly generous. People who rated it lower than an 8 should be required to explain.
shareWell for some reason i found it boring...
I don't know why but nothing could hold me into the movie. The actors were pretty good, the plot very decent, but the movie didn't <<connect>> well.Sorry for my poor english..

It was such an excellent movie - I don't get the rating. I really don't.
shareJust watched it for the first time, and yeah... 9/10 for me. Fantastic film.
shareTrue. It was actually one of the best on what the CIA does. Post 9/11. The director held it together. I would rate it 9.
