Altadena
Altadena is just north of Pasadena. It is not the sticks. And I don't think Okies could afford to buy there in the late 1960's.
shareMy grandfather, the only person in my family to ever become wealthy, lived in Altadena in the 1950s and 1960s. It's definitely not "the sticks", and it's fairly upscale. You had to have money to buy a house there.
