The Phantom - Season 5 finale ***(SPOILERS]***

Great episode ending with Nancy Sinatra’s “You Only Live Twice”, from the Bond film of the same name. Another reference to Bond in this episode; can you find it? The song has been covered by numerous artists including Shirley Bassey, Soft Cell, Bjork and, one of my faves, Hooverphonic, heard here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zK-GC5y_adg

At the end of the Mad Men season 5 finale where Don Draper’s ‘child’ bride Megan gets a big-break acting opportunity, leaving her husband once again feeling abandoned by someone he may have too willingly trusted, he drops by a bar to consider his thoughts. Love may be the elusive stranger for Mr. Draper, but attention is not, as a young beauty approaches and suggestively asks “are you alone?” Don coolly looks at his drink then slyly over to the young woman, and you can see it there, the good boy Don is going on hiatus and going back to his more forlorn ways. Draper, a handsome man who women find difficult to resist, is still a lonely and tortured soul that can’t help think, what do I have to lose, after all, ‘You Only Live Twice’. Don, you sure as hell will learn what’s there to lose in season 6, my boy....brace yourself, this plane is hitting a rough patch....and love will remain the stranger...

One of my more under-appreciated favorites. Great job by the cast and Weiner for a stellar effort in directing.
