I first and foremost HATED the line of LOOK WHAT WE MADE you, as if the audience wasn't aware, but the whole look like us isn't that true.
Kevin Bacon shaved his head cause it would have looked odd to me missing a chunk of your hair and have a scar there, plus, the cops were looking at him.
He was wearing his son's jacket, the one he wore the night he died.
it seemed more symbolic to me, but just cheapened, unlike in the Crow.
He was wearing dark clothes, toting a crapload of guns, had "battle scars" all over him, and had his head shaved. He certainly DID look like them and someone on the street wouldn't see Kevin Bacon and say "Wait a sec, you don't belong with those other guys, this doesn't add up at all." They'd run because he looks like he's gonna take some people out. Doesn't matter why he shaved his head or that the jacket belonged to his kid, his look still closely resembled the gang and the guy was making a pretty poignant point about the transformation Kevin had gone through.

Perhaps he took a hard knock to the head when falling from the stairs and had to have a brain operation of some kind. An injury like that could be internal and that's why we didn't see it at the time of the siege. As for his chest, either he had a heart attack too, or the operation to remove the bullet was particularly difficult, and/or it damaged his lung, which required a large incision for the operation.
shareI think the "you look like one of us, look what we made you" thingy doesn't only refer to the physical look, but also the violence that Nick is ready to commit, just like the gang members.
Sure, the motivation is totally different, but it both results in death.
Billy probably wants to say that Nick's not any better than the rest of the gang members.
