Accents

What was with the bloody awful Australian accents? It was like a cross between New Zealand/Australian/American. I'm guessing it was a low budget movie, but c'mon - surely there was some unemployed Aussie actors they could've found!

Worse were the Pontiac police cars, wrong colours on the ambulance and that ridiculous British ambulance siren sound.

If you can't even be bothered filming it in my country, SET THE OPENING IN THE U.S.!

This was filmed in Australia? Cool, more jobs to my country. I can do american accent too.

Doubt they shot any of those opening scenes in Australia.

The telefilm wasnt too bad- but the Aussie accents were!

American's need to realise 99.98% of American's can not manage an Australian accent. Bet ever Australian work is still the kid bart rang in the Simpsons who exclaimed "bute it waz an Imurgancee"

reply

Yet all serious Australian acting schools teach American accents as standard...

I am positive that the two actors who played the Australian paramedics were in fact really Australian. The film, however, was shot in California.

When 'patient zero' said "Its an eight hour drive to Sydney" thats when I new some one didn't do any research.

It's a 9-10 hour drive from the Queensland border to Sydney International Airport.

(http://www.whereis.com/ <- list Coolangatta on the border of NSW/QLD to Sydney International airport (Mascot) as a 9.5 hour trip)

More if you need to take a break and on a drive that long who wouldn't. To be on the _Far North coast_ of Queensland AND get to Sydney in eight hours..
That's impossible.. unless your speeding <my guess is some where around 150+ km/h> (local speed limit is 100Km/h (63M/h) at a maximum!)

Who cares It was a crappy movie anyway.

Also at the start when the police cards were driving down the Australian road with the British sirens the road markings were wrong. Unless the Ozzy have painted yellow no passing lines in the past year then this was filmed in the US or NZ..

reply
