EPIC MOVIE WAS THE BEST THEATER EXPERIENCE EVER...really im serious

I've seen a lot of movies in theaters, but this one was without a doubt the best experience. For about the first 45 minutes, me and my friends are in a state of confusion, exchanging concerned looks..something seems fishy..what is this we are watching? Suddenly after another failed punch-line, I see a large black man yell, and I quote, "MANNN, WHAT THE FU*K IS THIS SH*T". Indeed I thought, what exactly the *beep* was this sh*t? Suddenly others begin yelling, doing fake laughs and fart noises as the movie continues it's now evident war on the audience. We fought back, and we won.

In seriousness, the experience was amazing..we all bonded as one, throwing out insults and curse words..hell some even threw drinks and whatever else they could get their hands on towards the screen. You couldn't even hear the movie anymore, people were going crazy..one man had a fake laughing attack and fake death on the stairs after another failed punchline. I'll never forget this for as long as I live.

Sounds like you and everyone in that theatre played a little MST3K with this film. Gets me thinking. Maybe I should recommend this to Rifftrax. They don't riff comedies exactly, but you'd have to be drunk or high to find EPIC MOVIE funny anyway.

Haha I know, this is just one of those movies you just have to see to believe

reply

That's really disrespectful for the people that saved up their money to see the film.

If you guys don't like artistic, avant-garde films with strong anti-war themes, you shouldn't have gone.

I can only imagine the horror the ushers faced cleaning up the theater from the drinks you openly brag about throwing. That really shows you the mentality of 'the haters' of this film.

reply

The people who saved up their money seemed to be in agreement that they were being robbed. Let's say there were 200 people. 200x$12ticket=$2400 the theater and movie execs stole on tickets alone. It only seemed fair that we be able to throw our 8 dollar bags of popcorn and 6 dollar drinks at the screen. In terms of the crowd's mentality, I can only venture to guess it was mass hysteria brought about by the brave few who stood up to this evil and said enough is enough.

Wow. Bragging about ruining private property and making a poor blue collar worker do overtime. Society has fallen apart. Here you are, watching a film that hundreds of people have worked on, and your response is to trash the place? Not only are the people who made it not there, but the person that cleans it up is completely unrelated to the film.

The person who cleans up your filth doesn't even get anything extra. The person that owns the theater or film studio isn't there.

Just goes to prove my suspicion that the 'haters' of these films are elitist, war-mongering, hateful bigots. What did the working class ever do to you?

You like to flaunt your wealth so much that you brag about how much you spent. Well sir, one day daddy's money will run out and you'll be introduced to the real world where the hard-workers attend the matinees and have to watch with no concessions.

You're the evil. Not the film with strong anti-war themes called Epic Movie. How can you not get it?

Hey listen here you son of a b*tch, I don't care if it's private property, public property, or your mom's property. They're lucky the mob didn't burn down the entire theater. Secondly, I consider my particular audience to have been tame compared to some. While we were loud and angry, other screenings likely broke into a mass hysteria. I imagine there were knife fights, spousal abuse, fires, and a handful of suicides.

In the words of the large latino man I befriended during the riot,"On da real doe, deez mothafuxkas bout to give me my money back or you gon' see me on da 9 O-clock news"

It's people like you that are causing society to fall apart. Here you are justifying "knife fights, spousal abuse, fires" just because you didn't like the film.

I've long suspected that the haters of this film are the people that cheer the USA to bomb children in villages I can't pronounce, and this confirms that.

You are a danger to society and should be locked away in a sanitarium to receive treatment.

You're also a racist. Hopefully one day you will b e a fully functional adult.

reply

I would never condone bombing a village of children though I am fully behind a missile strike on whatever trailer park you reside in place. You seem mentally unstable and you my friend are the true danger to society.
I want you to answer something, and I want you to answer it good. You saw Epic Movie right? How was the experience in your theater? Bunch of cheerful good samaritans chuckling throughout? What would you give the movie on a scale of 1-10? Let's see who really belongs in a sanitarium.

reply

Here you are asking for me and my neighborhood to be killed, which indeed would kill children. Thanks for giving me absolute proof you want children to be blown to smithereens. Since you're the only one asking for people to die, you're the one that's a danger to society. Technically you can get committed for saying that. Not to mention, since I'm often at your mom's house, a missile strike would most likely kill her. I haven't seen anyone wish for matricide before. Wow.

To answer your question, my theater experience was amazing. I went on opening night, with what is the largest fan group of these films (which I am the head of). We packed the theater and laughed nearly non-stop. Fred Willard really stole the show with his scenes.

Overall, I give this film a 9.5/10. It's not as good as Disaster Movie, but it's certainly a modern classic.

reply

Children are a casualty of my war with you. I look at this in terms of the greater good. These may be innocent children today, but what about in 10 years? You and your fan group (cult is more like it) will no doubt warp the minds of these children and turn them into raving maniacs like yourself. Also, quit implying that the bombing of the slums which you call home would be some sort of modern day Hiroshima. It would take months for anyone to even realize you're gone.

Secondly, with a 9.5/10, you leave little wiggle room for movies such as The Godfather and Shawshank Redemption. Do you operate on a scale that permits giving a rating such as 25/10? I would be interested in hearing your take on an actual comedy such as Anchorman or Superbad being that you and your nutcase fan group seem to think Disaster Movie was 10/10.

I can't believe you're openly bragging about this on IMDb. Heaven forbid children grow up to have opinions that don't agree with yours. I've never seen someone justify killing children to silence an opinion about a film. This is truly revolting.

Face it: these films are the future of cinema, and the children love them.

It's a 1-10 scale, so each film gets ranked on it's own merits. This is an opinion based scale, and, FYI, I give both of those films 10/10 that you mentioned.

Pretty good films. ANchorman is 8/10. Superbad is 7.5/10.

All this over EPIC MOVIE? Really?

I know. I hope he gets the help he needs.

How young or high was this fan group?

I'd say the average height was 5'5". Ages range from lads as young as 11 all the way to old fogeys that are 37.

I'm 25 and don't drink or do drugs, so maybe it's my problem?

Don't let anyone tell you that being 25 is a problem. It may seem like one, but with enough perseverance you can overcome it.

I found DISASTER MOVIE even worse than this one.

Watch it again. The subtleties are insanely complex. For instance, take the heroes scene from Disaster Movie:

Will is banding with 3 people, on the brink of death via tornado, and they all start cheering for a hero to show up. As soon as Iron Man shows up to rescue them, he gets squashed by a falling cow, which turns him into a metal can. This is like Mother Earth is saying "Enough with the industrial military complex that gave birth to war machines like Iron Man! Bring about peace and start recycling!" A strong element of Dadaism is antiwar, and this is a blatantly anti-war joke, so it comes as no surprise that the war-mongering, rich Republican film critics hate these films so much (as seen in this thread).

You're the one that brought up all that ridiculous stuff.

If you look at the thread, he openly brags about making ushers work overtime, trashing private property, and then calls for a missile strike on me and children.

Yes very funny. Equal to the humor found in these films.

Thank you. I've always hoped someone would compare me to two of my heroes.

So it's not that I'm too old and don't understand, it's that these films really are bad.

No, that's your opinion. The first time I saw Blade Runner in theaters, I didn't like it. However, I rewatched it a couple of times and it's now one of my favorite movies. These films are rich with subtleties.

That was after he had said:

See how he's justifying violence in the post?

reply

[deleted]

First of all you raving lunatic, my comments are sarcastic. I'm assuming yours are as well. Obviously I don't wish violence on anyone, though my comments on the outrage from the audience were true, and justified in my opinion. Either way, it made for a good memory. IF you truly feel this strongly about these movies you are either completely mad, mentally unstable, or completely out of touch with reality and what constitutes humor. You rate this movie at a 10/10, yet out of hundreds of reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB, this and Disaster movie rank so low you would think it was a typo. So who's the crazy one? Perhaps you just know something we don't. I wish you would enlighten us all and explain why just about every single person in the world hated this movie.

reply

Oh, because having an opinion that disagrees with war-mongering fascists makes me the crazy one?

Fact is, you justified violence and forced members of the working class to work overtime, even though you knew what the film was about from the previews.

The reason this is rated so low is because film-critics are rich 1%-er war-mongers and the populace are sheep who take their word for it.

Your words are a form of intellectual terrorism. You reason that we knew what we were in for because of the preview? That would be like Paranormal Activity 3 showing it's trailer and then once the audience packs the theater, the movie is a love story starring Meg Ryan. Epic movie was nothing more than a deceptive trick meant to pickpocket the working class. The makers of this film laughed all the way to the bank, knowing full well they had played a very cruel joke. The fact that you advocate this behavior and thievery speaks volumes to your character. You, my friend, are the worst type of person. People like you are the reasons for the war in Iraq, high gas prices, the Treyvon Martin tragedy, the downfall of the VCR, Scotty Mccreery, and countless other problems within our society. Well done jerk off, take a bow.

I just watched the preview on youtube and it is a good representation of the film. Not my problem, nor is it the ushers' problem that you have trouble with comprehension. I suppose you're one of those people that needs to be spoon-fed everything, and doesn't pick up on subtleties, hence your disappointment with Epic Movie. Everyone in my fan group understood it, and had a great time.

Then why do I like anti-war films so much? You're the one that called for the death of my entire neighborhood to kill me.

reply

I must say, I truly like Epic Movie. Not because of the film, that film was terrible however, was it not for that film, I would not get to watch these posts. This discussion had me rolling on the floor. It is a hell a lot funnier than the movie!
