Showrunner wanted lesbian relationship with Alex and Stevie
Peter Murrieta, who ran the show for its first three seasons (2007–2010), said he wanted to have a lesbian relationship between Selena Gomez’s Alex and Hayley Kiyoko’s Stevie.
He said he always felt Alex was bisexual and wrote her that way. But Disney wouldn’t let him expand on it.

Of course, these days, Disney probably would have had him write a scene where someone catches them in bed with Stevie’s face buried between Alex’s legs.
