Was Selena a lot younger when the first season aired?

So I'm watching the every wizards episode ever marathon and I noticed in the first 8 episodes Selena's voice was a lot higher and she looked more younger or is it the singing that made her voice lower. Don't get me wrong it's still low, but her tone was higher.

forgot how Lucy Hale from PLLRS played justin's girlfriend in the early episodes.

She was like 13 or 14 years old.

No, she was actually older in 2007 than she is now.
She has an odd disease that makes her grow younger as she ages.
LOL! I was thinking the same thing. It seems like such an obvious question.

I've got a theory. It could be bunnies.

Of course. The years during which the show ran are were her teenage years, when one grows up quite a bit.

I think we all believe I could do something that stupid.

Yup. It says that in Lucy Hale's trivia

I really don't like to offend other users, but your question was really unnecessary. Of course Selena was younger when the first season aired. Really unnecessary to ask. Duuh.

I think everyone might be missing the OPs question,

Obviously Selena is older now than she was in Season 1

What he/she is asking is, was there a break between Season 1 and Season 2 as Selena looks much younger in the early episodes than she does even in Season 2

At least I think thats what he/she meant.

As I suggested in a comment further down in this thread, Selena looks so much younger in the earliest episodes because maybe they filmed a bunch, took a break and resumed the series. I think the original questioner was simply wondering why she looked so much younger. Someone else suggested that the pilot episode was one of these episodes. The first show of the series is incredibly underlit — especially the scenes in the lair — which I would expect from a pilot episode. (Also, as much as I like the first episode, the story feels thin and underdeveloped.) Pilots are intended to present an idea for a series and I don't expect them to be technical wonders.

Yeah, I know filankey is not a word, but it's gonna catch on.

I'm gonna remember this post and use it whenever this dumbass spams all the other kids shows boards with his inane and baseless opinions. Hahahahahahaha

So I read all of the "Well, duh! Of course she was younger, stupid," comments. It wasn't a stupid question. I took it to mean, was she a lot younger than basic math would indicate? As in maybe they filmed a bunch of episodes, took a long break, then continued on?

Remember the first few "Hannah Montana" episodes? Miley Cyrus looked and sounded a lot younger at the beginning than she did at the halfway point of Season 1. I remember she said in a Disney Channel interview that she started on the show at 12; she was 17 or 18 when her character graduated from high school.

I'm a relatively new viewer so I don't know for sure, but could at least that particular skipping forward of physical maturation have been around the time of the WGA strike? Could explain it as they would have had a big gap like pretty much every other show at the time but if not, never mind.

Of course, a lot of Pilots are filmed sometime (I've known of a couple of shows that there were a couple of years between the Pilot and the actual S1) before the rest of a show's first season. Don't know if Disney does this, but that could be another explanation.
