There's a new Wizard's movie in 2013?

But no David Henrie

It's not a movie. Just a one hour special.

Wondering if this is the start of a spin off!

"The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex"

David Henrie was scheduled to be filming a movie during the WOWP filming, but was scheduled to make a guest apparance. (See "Did You Know?" on the IMDB page at this link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2448374/.)

Nothing in articles I read explains if this one-hour special is set before or after the Wizard competition. (After make logical sense.) If after they could say Justin was too busy as Wiz Tech headmaster to accompany the family to Italy.

The story line is that the Russos and friends go to Italy to meet some of Jerry's long lost relatives. Alex, in typical Alex fashion, goofs up and conjures an evil duplicate of herself. "When Evil Alex gets roped into a charming young wizard's foreboding plan to take over the world, Good Alex must find a way to save her family and humankind, which leads to a monumental battle between the two versions of herself — all atop the Tower of Pisa." (From Disney's plot summary)

Well, I somehow managed to tape every episode of the series, including the movie. Time to dig through the boxes in storage from my cross-state move and find the one with the VCR. Or I could just use my sister's and commandeer the TV. It's times like this I wish I were a wizard. ZAP!

Yeah, I know filankey is not a word, but it's gonna catch on.

I haven't seen an air date yet for "The Wizards Return" but I wouldn't be surprised if it is in late January to mid-February. Reason? Disney Channel scheduled (finally!) more season three episodes than usual in the overnight time slots for January. Disney's been doing for several months what it did with "Hannah Montana" after the HM finale — showing the same two dozen shows from seasons one and two over and over and over and over again; repeating some only a week apart in the same time slot.

C'mon, Disney. 106 episodes, lots to choose from. How about some variety?

(Also, it will be "Jan-new-ary" with new episodes all around, including "Good Luck Charlie's" one-hour special season finale on Jan. 20.)

Yeah, I know filankey is not a word, but it's gonna catch on.

It won't be in January. That much is clear.

Definitely not. But the promo has switched from "2013" to "Coming Soon".

Speaking of the promo, have you noticed it airs only during "Wizards" episodes? I've never seen it at other times.

Yeah, I know filankey is not a word, but it's gonna catch on.

REPLY, TAKE 2:

"Speaking of the promo, have you noticed it airs only during "Wizards" episodes? I've never seen it at other times."

And 22 hours after I wrote that, I saw the promo in prime time for the first time: during the closing credits of "Radio Rebel."

Yeah, I know filankey is not a word, but it's gonna catch on.
