Another promo has been released

Here is the link to a new promo that was posted on the official DisneyChannel YouTube account on February 14: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhh187i4kBk

There's lots of new footage, of course, and to me the promo looks pretty good. It's really exciting when the announcer says "Selena Gomez is back!" haha :p I can't wait to see how Alex has changed now that she has won the competition.

But something that bothered me (SPOILER ALERT) was when that new guy character that is trying to hit on Alex comes and tells Alex that she is beautiful, and of course that effing Mason is standing in the background like a freaking watchdog. And then later in the promo he asks Alex if she wants to do something with him, and she says "Sorry, but I already have a boyfriend" and just the way Selena says it just immediately reminds me of someone in an abusive relationship. She sounds defeated, and like she is being forced to say it, and she sounds completely unhappy when talking about her boyfriend. And then what I suppose is the duplicate Alex is shown with the guy putting his arm around her, and of course Mason sees it and automatically assumes that Alex is cheating on him and says "Just as I thought". And there is also a small clip of Mason (in werewolf form) slamming the new guy against a wall, like as in a fight. Ugh I cannot stand him, he better not singlehandedly ruin this reunion.

Okay, sorry, that was my anti-Mason rant. I just despise his character though lol

If you were here when this board was active (when the show was still on), there were TONS of threads about how Mason is a douche and Alex is too good for him.

The basis for these arguments is Mason never takes responsibility for anything and is in fact a jealous nutter whose relationship with Alex resembles a real life abusive relationship, unfortunately.

It was always Mason who would become violently jealous (wolf-out) and become a threat to those around him... Including Alex! He even ate Dean! And in typical dysfunctional relatonship style, Alex would always excuse his behavior "because he is a werewolf and can't control himself", so this is why this fictional relationship eeriely resembled a real life abusive one like you picked up on.

The worst part is this show was aimed at pre-teen girls and sent a terrible message about relationships, even if unintentional on the part of the producers.
