Two characters I almost can't stand

Max is an obtuse, categorical moron whose stupidity nearly gets them exposed or killed on more than one occasion. I liked him better when he was a girl during the six-episode arc in season 4, and I wasn't happy to see him turn back into a boy. I was extremely glad he didn't get to keep his powers, because havoc was all he knew how to do because he paid even less attention in magic lessons than Alex.

Zeke Beakerman. Oh god, Zeke Beakerman. He's supposed to be this funny, adorkable character, but he strikes me as more of just an obnoxious dope who is convinced he's the funniest person on the planet, and tries to force laughs from everybody he encounters by doing ridiculous, over-the-top antics and facial expressions that aren't funny at all.

Max is hilarious. Most disney shows, the designated moron is intolerably stupid. I think Max is a riot. Jake Austin gets the timing right and is very believable when he says his lines. Zeke is a dorky dude but enjoyable as Justin's sidekick.

I find trouble tolerating Mason... Dean was ok and luckily not in every episode....season 4 it's like Mason this, Mason that. blah blah.

I guess that's why TVTropes has Max pegged as a 'Base breaker'.

When Dean came back in that one episode of Season 4 i really wish Alex took him back. Mason was so annoying & whiny. Dean & Alex had waaaaaaay more chemistry IMO!

Agree 100%. His stupidity really ticked me off at times. I still remember one episode where he kept on spilling the secrets of magic when he knew better. He did this in other episodes to lesser effect, but this one ep he did it to such an extreme that he needed to be beaten.

Disagree on Zeke. I like him. He's goofy. Didn't have issues with him.
