I just saw it last night... what a phenomenal movie!! Take your momma, your daddy, your uncles, aunts, and cousins, you will not be disappointed. Take a break from the mind-numbing summer flicks and see a GREAT MOVIE. Cheadle and Ejiofor give each other a run for their money in the acting department.

No matter what your color, you should see this flick. I say that because I overhead an older white couple at a ticket counter say they didn't want to see it because it looked like a "rap movie" (their words not mine). They had come to see Harry Potter(?) but it was sold out. I convinced them to see it with the promise that if they didn't like it, I'd pay for their tickets. Needless to say they didn't ask me for any money!

Totally agree with OP!!!! Everybody would enjoy this wonderful story and the incredible debth of Cheadle and Ejiofor's performances!!

There is no such thing as ANY movie that is "just for black people." Give me a break. While I believe the OP's intentions were good in making this statement, it still expresses a racist sentiment. If there are movies that are "not just for black people," then there must conversely be movies that are indeed "just for black people," which is a completely ridiculous and patronizing statement.

Ha! Too true. A friend of mine (who's white) really wants to see "Who's Your Caddy?," but he's a fool.

While there are no movies that are "just for black people," there are, of course, movies that are "just for fools."

Indeed. I think smart people of all races should band together to give movies like that the reputation they deserve: Retarded, no matter what market they were designed to appeal to.

Seriously though, Talk to Me, which is absolutely fantastic, gets a bum rap because it happens to be a black man. This isn't 1976. We're not talking about Superfly. It's a movie.

And I blame tripe like "Who's Your Caddy?" that tries to repel legitimate concerns about it being absolutely retarded by just saying "oh, its' for the "urban" audience". I find that very concept patently offensive.
