'Talk to Me' or 'Who's your Caddy?'

That really is the question. Obviously, Hollywood is dictating the "black" persona. The problem is that it isn't a persona at all. But if the public doesn't support films like "Talk to Me" how can you expect them to stop selling to the same demographic that made money for "Little Man" and "Soul Plane".

So if a good movie is in the market, why does it make sense to market to African Americans and then release to a white audience.

The movie is in Salt Lake City, Utah, but not in Birmingham, Alabama.

Mad yet?

While Tyler Perry's movies are doing well, a real movie (not just a "black" movie) is finally ih the theaters, but Focus Features is ready to pretend like it never happened.

Are you really gonna take this??????????

Seriously?!?!?!??!?!"

Don't wait...REACT!

Or do you want another movie like, "Who's your Caddy Day Camp?

For the last time, Focus has decided to push this movie back until september ( oscar season) because of the good word of mouth Don has been getting. the same thing happend last year with The last king of scotland. That movies came out in october but was push back from its wide release because of great word of mouth from Forest. look what happen to Forest.

I took an African American film class in college and the best answer we could come up with for this sort of question is that the general population is unwilling to confront real issues in their leisure time. Most people just want to be entertained, so these new age blaxploitation films make more money and therefore show on more screens in a wider release. It's unfortunate. Enlightenment is supposed to be hard to obtain, but films like this make it easy.
