What a downer...

Saw this movie over the weekend and really liked it. It was a good solid movie about someone who, I'll admit, I knew nothing about. Then I discover that a lot of events portrayed in this film are completely inaccurate?! No biopic is 100% accurate of course. But to have such big things, such as Petey being there at the James Brown concert after Dr. King's assasination just be completely made up?? It really took something away from what I had thought was a very good, maybe even great film. :(

Having lived through 1968 (I was 16), the riots in Philly, the fear everyone had that things were falling apart, that civil war was imminent, I can say that the film brought across the feelings very well, even if it was inaccurate in the details.

But, I get your point, and feel similar towards film representations of characters I know better than I know Petey.
