Oscar snubs abound!

Best Actor - Don Cheadle

Best Supporting Actress - Taraji Henson

How were these performances overlooked?....... Incredible!

I agree with you. This was by far one of my favorite movies of this year, and Don Cheadle definetly got snubbed. I guess when your not in the tabloids that much like George Clonney, and Brad Pitt then you're not important to the Academy.

Every performance ultimately nominated in aforementioned categories was better than the melodramatic ones in this film. Sorry.

My Oscar goes to Chewie. They should at least give him best supporting actor nod. He is such an emotional performer. I could literally feel everything his character went during this movie - from hunger to succeed to disappointment in friendship to final reconcilation with Pete. This dude doesn't act - he becomes!

I disagree with the OP. Every performance in this movie was good but that doesn't necessarily mean that the awards should come raining down on them. I'm more moved by the story itself than the performances; the actors were merely moving it along and making the audience understand like they were supposed to do. And it's not a race thing (in this particular case), either. Some movies are just made for you to experience and reflect on and not to receive acclaim and this is one.
