'Falsely Accused'? 'Allegedly raped'?

Was the protagonist not convicted of rape? If he was, how (outside of providing an idiot plot-device to get the guy's girlfriend back on his side) could the news anchor state he was "falsely accused of allegedly raping" someone (and, who accuses a person of "allegedly" committing a crime...? Wouldn't it simply be alleged he or she committed it? ...Sorry)?

...I have no idea. I've never seen "Talk to Me," and I've no clue to how this post wound up here — L.O.L.

Sorry, don't know what the hell you're talking about. I thuink you got the wrong movie. How on earth did you end up on this blog?

Yeah, I just admitted I have no idea what the hell I'm talking about, and that I think this ended up being posted under the wrong film.

"Ralph Waldo “Petey” Greene, Jr. had numerous scrapes with the law, eventually dropping out of high school to join the army. He served in Korea, but was discharged from the military for heroin use. A heavy drinker and minor drug dealer, Petey was convicted of armed robbery and sentenced to 10 years at Lorton Reformatory in 1965."
