Not Even Close to True

I know Hollywood movies are "Based" on a true story, but they really took some liberties with this one.

Oh well, I really enjoyed it all the same. Don't take it as a history lesson and you'll be fine.

The Johnny Carson thing never happened (Petey apparently never even went to the show) and also Dewey was apparently not even at Petey's funeral let alone a speaker at it, suggesting that they didn't reconcile late in Petey's life. Pretty big leaps to take. Not sure what else isn't true. Never ceases to amaze me the liberties filmmakers take with true stories. Why even tell the story if you're just gonna make stuff up?

This movie may be another example of Hollywuss, but I enjoyed it anyway.
