Under the Same Movie
Okay partly critic of the plot, major critique on Actors and Marketing. I've noticed people are really pressing on the illegal element on the film, but seriously, i think it was just a secondary to who did it and why. Most likely than not if anyone is here illegally it's usually the father, in this case it's the mother. Controversial, i guess, just like those movies about single fathers, really? should we be sympathetic because they are not female? Anywho, Carlitos went to the US the only way he knew would be the quickest. Had he had more time he would of done it in the most appropriate and legal way, after all he is a darn smart kid. Eugenio Derbes character work is probably one of the worst acting i've seen on screen. I notice on interviews how he didn't want to make his character funny but he was not subtle at all which made most of his devious moments so over the top it was hard not to roll your eyes. He's a great comic but he needs to work on his dramatic skills or choose better roles. I love America Ferrera but she does not star in this film, so why say that she has a staring role. At least that is the assumption most of us had when it was advertised. Yes her role is pivotal to the scene but so is the woman who saved Carlitos from being dissected for his body parts. The actress portraying the woman is Maria Rojas, a very successful mexican actress. Other than a few inconsistencies found in independent films i found this movie really good. The ending was left open giving you the sense of accomplishment yet unfinished. you'll see what i'm talking about when you watch it.
