does this film have a sad ending? *possible spoilers*

well, my stepmom wants to drag me to this, and so far all the films she's taken me to at the E Street Cinema (where she plans to see this one) end in a depressing way, and I'm really not looking to that. I'm not asking to hear an ending, just if it ends happily or not. Thanks!

i wasn't disappointed with the ending. it ended and your mind logically makes out what happens next. i think it could not have been concluded anymore beautifully.

definitely go see it.

I'll add to that, though, that Enrique himself realized that the quality of life in the US was no different for him than living in abject poverty on the other side. It seemed whereas Carlos' mom came over for the well-being of her son, he had come over somewhat more opportunistically.

There was a lot of under-developed dialogue about him not wanting responsibility and scenes indicating a sort of change of heart, so (my hope, at least) is that he will find a way to rebuild his life in Mexico, face whatever demons he might have, etc, etc...but again, I'm being optimistic here.

The arc of Enrique's character was one of the big draws for me in this movie, actually.

I just saw this about 2 hours ago, so it's still pretty fresh. I highly recommend it.
