David Zucker is a great writer and director of comedies, but even him can't work it out with the "material" out there...

the firsts two Scary Movie were written and directed by the Wayans brothers (the talented ones): though the first was great, the second is already a weak load of jokes. The 3rd, first Zucker's, is at the same level of the original, with his trademarked jokes (for example, on children) which are timeless.
I think he is definitely the best in the genre: maybe he suffered the loss of Leslie Nielsen, maybe he didn't put much effort in this one (he is co-writer and uncredited co-director); maybe the vein of horror movies, rich in the 90s, now is exhausted. He already did a movie about superheroes... what else now? a spoof on remakes or on sci-fi blockbusters with no script and tons of digital effects?
