I believe it is the biggest cheap shot to call these films terrible without looking at it for what it is and that is a stupid yet still funny film. This film as well as others such as a haunted house are funny and deliver minimal but sometimes nonstop laughs and people criticize acting and writing in films like these. So would you shoot someone in their sleep because that's kind of like what your doing down grading films like this.

I think because the first scary movie was pretty good, people just expect the others to be just as good

Its not stupid yet funny. Scary Movie was funny. Blazing Saddles was funny.
Scary Movie 5 is just stupid from end to end, and universally hated.
Films like this are the reason cinema is dying, outside superhero movies.
If done right, these kind of movies can be pretty funny. This one isn't. I couldn't keep watching it past 20 minute mark, it was just too horrible.
