Did anyone think the film felt similar to Garden State,
I thought his character and Zach Braff seemed alot a like.
What does anyone else think?

However, I think Numb is more realistic than Garden State, the latter is much more a romantic love story while Numb is more concerned about the real problem in our society.
They are a lot alike. Only, Matt Perry is a better depressed man than Zach Braff, and Lynn Collins is 10x hotter than Natalie Portman...
Also, the comedy was much more subtle, enhancing the movie instead of giving it a surreal feel.
The relationship they had reminded me a lot of garden state and eternal sunshine, although the rest of eternal sunshine was completely different, the relationship between Jim and Winslett reminded me a LOT of the relationship between Lynn and Perry.

I get that feeling from both couples in both movies even though, as you said, the rest of the movie is completely different. However I must say that the situation in Eternal is terrifying and reality-altering in a way that somehow connects the two movies.

yes, I think so too. however, I like garden state better, not because it's more teaching, but because it's more bright, sympathetic and deeper in emotional level, not mental.
I must confess, that I'm a big fan of boath matthiew perry and zack braff, just matthiew's character is a little bit too much of dark, confusing. and for me natalie portman is much hotter than lynn collins.
but soundtrack is better in numb, I like very much dandy warhols and ivy, though garden state's soundtrack is good too.
