Is a hug or a kiss-ending 'not done' or something??

What's with some movies these days? Is it not done to show the two leads kissing at the end? Is that too much or something.
What a stupid ending to this movie. Thaqt's all I can say. Just stupid. As if we are watching 90 minutes to see an ending like this. Hudson's speech to Sara deserved much more than what we got.

I think not even showing her in the last scene is a great choice.

I certainly wasn't looking forward to a kiss-ending. I wanted Hudson to be happy. And the look on his face when he knew that Sara was there for him was enough.

And after all this movie is not about a "simple" relationship - at least not for me. For me it's about Hudson's condition and his dealing with it. Considering this, the actual ending of this movie was more meaningful to me than a kiss-ending ever could've been.

I would of preferred her to wait with him at the corner rather than pick him up and and drive off. It didn't make sense to me for him to leave his "safe zone" earlier than he normally would just because she came by. But even as it was done, good movie overall.

But there's no indication that she's actually in the car??

reply

It was obvious she was... she's the only one that knew where he'd be at that specific time (I think he stands at that corner for 20 minutes if I remember correctly) combined with the fact that this happens directly after his speech in the movie rental place.

I agree with you there.

I think the ending was suitable for the rest of the film. In a way, his relationship with Sarah was similar to his condition. Things weren't good, but there was a hope it would get better coupled with an appreciation that with work, things would eventually get better.

Your narrative aesthetic has become increasingly banal from years of watching formulaic drek. I applaud the film maker for, at least, resisting that one last opportunity pile on another cliché.

the ending was totally okay and fit perfect to the film. if you want a "kiss-and-huggin(and f ucking?)"-Ending, please, watch some stupid blockbuster...
