Absolutely fantastic. Being a huge fan of Friends for all those years, I was worried all I would see is Chandler, but no - this was a superb performance by Matthew. Parts of it actually mirrored my life, as I recently went on anti-anxiety drugs and flipped out over all the side-effect issues hehe, especially the muscle-twitching thing.
A brilliant film, I'll be watching it many times I know.

shareI have never been a fan of ' friends' ( must be the only person on the planet who has never ever seen a single espisode) but absloutley loved this movie..it was funny,charming and sad all at the same time.

I wasn't expecting much.. but the actors/actresses on the cover of the dvd made me think otherwise.. I was very surprised how much I enjoyed this little gem... I can relate to in a small way to Matthew's character as well.. I thought the acting was very good and the writing was decent for the subject matter... all in all I gave it a 7... it made me think.. enough said.. really liked it.
shareYes, but knowing people whom suffet from this thing, this guy handle with that so easily that he seems to be more an paranoid hyphocondriac than someone who suffer from a dissociative disorder.
And when I said this movie would be interesting only for Friends fans or people who directly or indirectly have some relationship with this disease, I forgot to put that people will feel disappointed (except for Friends fans).

"If you're here, who is at home disappointing your parents?"
This isn't the movie I expected. I think I was expecting a romantic comedy. This was so much better and so much more emotionally rewarding. The character of Sara was important but at the end of the movie, I didn't expect her to be the 'fix' for his problems. I don't think that the last scene even mattered.
It was truly an interesting study of the feelings of someone who feels in the grip of a malady he can't cure and can barely cope with. A more serious malady would have been a short short movie because it would have been the story of a suicide. As it is, this person found a way to cope every day and that is what is inspirational.
Very well acted. Matthew Perry was a finie choice.
I really enjoyed this one. It's kind of like a middle aged Garden State.

Numb can't be categorized as a Rom-Com in the strict sense of the word but it is a welcome and refreshing break from the typical offerings we have got from this genre in recent times.
Its a well crafted story executed almost perfectly. Dealing with such issues it is very easy for the screenplay to get pretentious, superficial and manipulative. There is not a hint of any of these elements in this movie. Perry plays his part with an excellent subtlety while his love interest played by Lynn injects the spark in the movie. Other characters too are well established. All in all, to say that 'Numb' is NOT a GEM would be an UNDERSTATEMENT.
