The ending (or possibly an unnoticed goof?)

At the end, in the scene at the Movie rental thing, this is what Hudson says to Sara:

" I'm better. I mean I'm not ever gunna be normal. I'm still gunna be much more comfortable at 4:45 at the corner of Ensure and Woodman."

Then in the next scene we see a digital alarm clock going off at 4:27. In the very next frame we see Hudson, laying in his bed, trying to kill a fly. There is an analogue clock next to his bed showing the time - it's already 4:50.

This made me think ... either this is a goof that went unnoticed or the clock was put there for a reason. I'm guessing the digital clock that had the alarm going off was Sara's - coz why would a person have two clocks in his bedroom?

So this leads me to believe to two possible endings ...

1. Either Hudson never acctually wakes up and goes to Ensure and Woodman and it's simply a dream. He said himself he's never sure what is real and what isn't. That would explain the closed eyes at the beggining of the last scene and taking in a deep breath while he openes his eyes and sees Sara driving towards him ...

2. Hudson was acctually at Ensure and Woodman but it wasn't at 4:45 which would also explain the closed eyes and the exhale because if the clock in his bedroom was right, this wasn't the time when everything is deserted anymore - which also explains the busy intersection in the background when we see Sara's car driving towards him. (This was regarded as a goof by IMDb ...)

Don't know ... ending always seemed a bit off to me and felt it was more to it. Maybe it really isn't that straightforward as it seems to be.
