Was the plot inspired by an episode of Fantasy Island

Watching an episode of Fantasy Island on YouTube and a young blone woman has come to the island to get married and to finally meet her father, who could be one of three men (one of them is Skipper from Gilligan's Island) and all three say they're her father. I know there are more details to the musical and it's built around the ABBA songs but I'm getting so strong deja vu here.

I understand it was inspired by the film Buena Sera, Mrs campbell, with Gina Lollabridgida.

The Plot was inspired by an episode of the Maury Povich Show.

Basil: Don't mention the war. I mentioned it once, but I think I got away with it.
