Like many people have said the casting was terrible. Merryl Streep is a great actress but completely wrong for this. Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth also very poorly cast in this film.

However I thought Amanda Seyfried was surprisingly very good.

Could have been a great movie if they casted talented singers / dancers instead of just going for big names who didn't suit it.

I agree. I did enjoy it, but the actors are not really suitable for the parts re: singing and also re: their ages. pierce brosnan's singing is particularly bad. Amanda is very good.

Meryl Streep could play Batman, and be the right choice.
