Dismal misfire...
... rendered unwatchable by Carrey's inability to stop mugging. He's never realized he isn't cute, or appealing, and that he needs to do something about his awful toothy grin and that jaw which is as (un)hinged as a reticulated python's.
BUT the biggest flaw is the way the set-up is squandered; Carell and Buscemi should have been a couple. An unwilling, resistant couple, but a couple nonetheless. But obviously Scardino, Goldstein and Daley didn't, and still don't, have the cojones even to *think* outside their dreary comfort zone.
