I'm still looking forward to this, but isn't Jeremy Irons way too old to play Hardy? Hardy was only 37 years old when he met Ramanujan.

Historically that might be true, but since 99% of the people never even heard of either Hardy, Littlewood, Hilbert or Ramanujan, it does not matter, since we trade some facts in for the best casting you could wish for: the guy who played Charled Ryder in Brideshead Revisited..Jeremy Irons!!! (Who also has one of the most pleasant reading voices in the world, research has pointed out!)

Well, it matters to some people.

And don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of Irons! I'd rather him than a lesser actor just because he was more Hardy's age.
