Now I'll admit that I haven't seen this movie, but honestly ,who the hell has lol. It's a film that is so widely Unreleased in the US that it plays in 1 theater in all the 5 boroughs. Yup, that's right Manhattan, where you can always find every film if you want to go. Now that shows that it's really hard to see in a theater.
Let me get to this Masterpiece I see everyone writing in reviews. I'm sure it 98% Indian , whom we all know support anything Indian and rate all 10s. The movie stars Dev Patel !!? I mean seriously. He was good as a nerd in The Newsroom because that show was brilliant. He was terrible in that stupid Chappie movie, so what makes this performance like Russel Crowes performance in "A Beautiful Mind" lol.
People, please stop calling everything a masterpiece. I get some get caught up in a movie that is probably really good or that hits home to them, but the word Masterpiece is to be given at the highest regard for the film maker and the actors, and all the technical stuff. This movie is definitely not like Shindlers List (just example of a masterpiece). Stop it already!!!

The film was a typical over-dramatization of a dull story. It tried to turn a maths atory into a human story, which is not something that Ramanujan was remembered for. It was also full of liberal white guilt nonsense which never happened.

Definitely not a masterpiece but could've been one. It had all the ingredints for success but missed the chance. Acting of the Indian characters was average. Story was fast paced and shallow at times. It lacked depth, originality, and emotions. But for sure it is a great movie.
