If you actually knew what you were talking about, you'd realize that this is actually more of a cultural dogma, or even just a personal choice, and not really a religious dogma at all. In fact there are no distinct eating restrictions in Hindu texts other than eating beef, as this is their one sacred animal. The one animal they must keep pure in order to have a pure path between them, a lineage of animals, and God. See, even a self alluded to intelligent person like yourself has been fooled by modern stereotypes or the like, rather than knowing the truth behind your very own argument. Many Hindu people eat many kinds of meat and it is not generally frowned upon. We are all somewhat ignorant because of our exposure to cultural dogmas and such, and religious dogmas as well. It is as automatic as time is for humans. Perception is a huge part of the entire inner human battle. The wise would not make fun of others for being lost in dogma, for you too are certainly a victim of it, and the pompous are likely to be a casualty of it. Why snare your own trap? A wise man speaks with compassion and understanding. At this point, you are obviously not one of them. So who are you to mock an obvious genius? An anonymous pompous nobody on an internet message board? Take a look in the mirror.
A film I recommend for you and your psychological afflictions...Bang The Drum Slowly (1973).
Some Hindu texts do encourage those who want to be pure or closer to God to refrain from eating animals, but this is not a restriction or a necessity by any means. The Manusmriti for example...
Except during a time of adversity, a Brahmin ought to sustain himself by following a livelihood that causes little or no harm to creatures.
My body's a cage, it's been used and abused...and I...LIKE IT!!
