I just watched the new episode and it was awful. When Amy was asking where the motorcycle helmet was and Matt immediately said "Are going on a motorcycle date?"

Really???

Then Matt talking to the boys about it. Although they are adults, it doesn't seem appropriate to talk with your children about that.

I also like how Jeremy and Audrey just happened to be loading up their car, and walked up when Chris and Amy were checking out the bike. I also didn't see them in the background loading up the car. It's funny too because Jeremy had mentioned that they saw Amy dressed in leather standing next to the bike. She didn't have the leather on until Jeremy and Audrey left. TLC is getting sloppy.

What about when Amy "discovered" Matt's new auction buys while walking by the barn and there just happened to be a camera in the back of the barn filming as Amy was walking by.

All reality shows are scripted, unless it's "Cops". They have to keep things interesting, especially this show.

The difference is that docu-drama shows like Unsolved Mysteries and Rescue 911 were honest about the fact that what they were showing the audience was in fact a recreation of actual events and that actors were often used as stand ins for the real people in the footage (although Rescue 911 did do a mini-documentary on the Charles Cullen case because they were in Boston filming with the Boston PD when that all happened), while cops films several hundred hours of footage during their ride-a-longs with dozens of police officers all across the united states and then stitches together episodes from the more interesting footage.

I have never seen this show until this week while staying with my sister for the holidays. She loves it. I said the exact same thing about Amy and the barn. I told her it's obvious from the camera shots that the show is scripted.

When Amy was talking to Jeremy before she and her friend left on the bike, You can see the clouds kept changing back and forth. It's obvious they shot and edited several takes and of that part.

Sis did not like me bringing that stuff up.

Guess she didn't like the cornbread either.

I agree that all reality shows are scripted, including this one, but as the OP said, this one seems to be getting MORE scripted. They have clearly always come up with different projects and events for the purpose of the show, but now it seems like almost every scene is set up.

Even when Amy's friends are around it seems so fake and scripted. I also notice sometimes when they're in restaurants there's hardly anyone in the restaurant or they're in one of the better tables away from everybody lol.

I mean, welcome to reality TV. Can you imagine how boring a TRUE reality show would be? Nothing is ever "real" as long as there are cameras rolling, anyhow. It alters the way people behave, even if they aren't adhering to a script.

From what I have read MANY REALITY SHOWS are scripted. They need the drama or they would be boring. Also, so many of the shows end up with real divorces. Very sad.
