why did Del Toro sleepwalk through the first part of the film? The guy has got mad acting chops, so it must have been by choice.

'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings.

Perhaps that's how the character was written, juxtaposing the wild beast side of Laurence. Hm?
